Learn the basics of goat keeping and care! Perfect for those new to goats or those looking to build a solid foundation of goat care knowledge and skills. This workshop is a combination of classroom type presentation, live demonstrations, and discussion.
Topics include: Goat Physiology & Behavior ~ The Healthy, Normal Goat ~ Housing, Fencing, Pasture, & Protection ~ Feed, Diet, & Nutritional Needs ~ Routine Care, Hoof Care & Vaccinations ~ Supplement & Medication Administration ~ An Introduction to Parasites ~ Injuries & Simple First Aid ~ Supplies & Equipment ~ Common Illnesses & When to call your Veterinarian ~ Building a Community of Support & Expanding your Knowledge with Breeders, Veterinarians, Universities, & Other Resources
This is a small workshop with limited space- please complete the registration form to reserve a seat! A 30% discount is offered to 4H & FFA members and their families! Children aged 12 and older are welcome to register with an attending parent. There is no charge for the seat of the attending parent.
Workshop registration fee- $100
